ENTRY/EXIT SYSTEM (EES) – REQUIREMENT FOR NON-EUROPEAN TRAVELERS – SCHENGEN AREA
From 2025, the Schengen Area has implemented the Entry/Exit System (EES). This process is mandatory for all travelers who are not citizens of the European Union, including Panamanian passengers, and requires the registration of biometric data (facial photograph and fingerprints) upon first entry into any Schengen country. The EES replaces the manual passport stamp and digitally records entries into and exits from the Schengen Area.
The system will automatically monitor the 90-day limit within a 180-day period, and all information will be recorded to ensure compliance with immigration regulations. During this process, passengers may experience additional delays at border controls.
