Departure from Panama City on Copa Airlines flight CM 358 at 10:25 a.m. and arrival at 11:51 a.m. Arrival at La Aurora International Airport for assistance and transfer to Antigua Guatemala. Accommodation.
DAY 02 ANTIGUA GUATEMALA HALF-DAY TOUR – NOVEMBER 04
Breakfast. Departure for a visit to one of the most important cities during the colonial period in America. Upon arrival, visit La Merced Church, visit the Central Park (Plaza de Armas) and Cathedral, free time for shopping, and at the indicated time return to the hotel for accommodation. Free afternoon.
DAY 03 ANTIGUA – CHICHICASTENANGO – LAKE ATITLÁN – NOVEMBER 05
Breakfast. Early departure to the Chichicastenango market, located in the Guatemalan central highlands, important for its colorful market. Visit the Church of Santo Tomás. DAY 04 BOAT SAN JUAN LA LAGUNA – LAKE ATITLÁN – GUATEMALA CITY – NOVEMBER 06
Breakfast. At 9:00 a.m., departure for a boat ride to the indigenous village of Santiago Atitlán, located between the Tolimán and San Pedro volcanoes. After a wonderful journey across the lake, arrival at the village and visit to the Church of Santiago Apóstol. Its market is permanent and offers all kinds of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Visit the Cofradía of Maximón, one of the expressions of religious syncretism in the country. At the appropriate time, return to Panajachel and transfer to Guatemala City for accommodation.
DAY 05 GUATEMALA CITY TOUR – AIRPORT – NOVEMBER 07
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel at 9:00 a.m. for a visit to Nueva Guatemala de la Asunción (official name of Guatemala City), founded in 1776 after the earthquakes that destroyed Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala (now Antigua), the fourth capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala during the colonial period. During the tour, you will visit La Reforma Avenue, one of the most important avenues in the city, then continue to the Civic Center where you can see public buildings with murals by Guatemalan artists. Then proceed to the Historic Center of the city where you will have a panoramic visit of the National Palace of Culture and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Visit the Avenue of the Americas and one of the residential areas of the city.
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport to take the return flight home. Departure from Guatemala City on Copa Airlines flight CM 361 at 04:23 p.m. and arrival at 07:50 p.m.
