Its name means “Place of Voices,” and it was built during the Classic period of the Maya civilization. Upon arrival at the Tikal Archaeological Site, your guide will show you a scale model of the temple and acropolis complex. You will visit Complexes Q and R, then continue to the Central Acropolis, Temple I (“The Great Jaguar”), and Temple II (“Temple of the Masks”)—the former being one of the most important structures in the complex. You will also visit the “Lost World” (Mundo Perdido) area (time permitting), and in the afternoon, return to the Visitor Center for lunch.
