Cobán is a city and also the capital of the Department of Alta Verapaz, in Guatemala, at an altitude of 1,320 meters. After the conquest of Guatemala by the Spanish, and the Capitulations of Tezulutlán, it was a doctrine in charge of the Dominican friars, until they had to deliver their doctrines to the secular clergy in 1754. After the Independence of Central America it was one of the original municipalities of the State of Guatemala in 1825. Here the Temperate Oceanic Climate predominates, and is characterized by large rainfall distributed throughout the city and around neighboring municipalities. Places of interest that you cannot miss: the Rey Marcos Caves, the Quetzal Biotope, the Cahabón Rafting Tour, the Candelaria Camposanto Tour and the Lachuá Lagoon tour.
